The Institute On Neuroscience
The Institute On Neuroscience (ION) is an 8-week intensive research experience for high school students. The first three weeks of the program consist of a “crash-course” in neuroscience, including daily lectures, enrichment activities, and field trips to facilities such as Zoo Atlanta, the Georgia Aquarium, Bodies: the Exhibition, Emory University PET and MRI Imaging Facilities, and the Autism Clinic. The last five weeks of the program consist of individual, mentored research projects in laboratories at Center for Behavioral Neuroscience participating institutions. This program is coordinated by Dr. Kyle Frantz and staff members of the Center for Behavioral Neuroscience.
