Assistant/Associate Professor
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics of Georgia State University invites applications for an anticipated tenure-track assistant/associate professor position in biostatistics beginning in August 2010 pending budgetary approval. A Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics, or other fields related to statistics is required. The departmental Ph.D. programs with a concentration in bioinformatics and biostatistics started in Spring 2008. The candidates are expected to substantially contribute to these two programs and the interdisciplinary college initiatives Brains and Behaviors, Molecular Basis of Disease, and Urban Health. A strong record or potential of independent or collaborative research with extramural funding support are necessary. A strong interest and experience in teaching and directing doctoral students are required. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
