Instructors have the option of meeting their classes in the LARC for multimedia activities, such as oral/listening examinations, paired or grouped discussions, review of audio materials, internet activities, PowerPoint presentations, composition writing using international character sets, video viewing, etc. The LARC staff will be happy to assist you in the management of your multimedia class, so feel free to bring in your ideas!
Holding a class session in the LARC can add flexibility to your curriculum, but as with any introduction of new material or technology, a little pre-planning goes a long way towards a seamless presentation.
For more information on holding a class in the LARC, please contact Trish Nolde by email.
The LARC now has iPads that can be loaned out for either individual faculty use (2 weeks at a time) or whole class use (in which iPads are checked out to students in a particular class for use during a semester). Only MCL Faculty may request use of these iPads.
Please use the form below if you are interested in checking out an iPad for individual use: http://gsularc.wufoo.com/forms/larc-faculty-ipad-request-copy
Please use THIS form if you are interested in your students using iPads in a class: http://gsularc.wufoo.com/forms/larc-class-ipad-request
After receiving your request, Trish Nolde will respond and arrange a meeting with you so that we can discuss your proposal at length.
Please keep in mind that there are a limited number of iPads available, so it may not be possible to fulfill every request.
