There is the possibility of internships for students with reputable, professional agencies. Internships are NOT a requirement for the certificate in translation or interpretation.
On a number of occasions students in the Spanish translation program have had unpaid internships working in a translation agency. They have all commented on how much they learned and how helpful this experience will be for them in the future.
Several students have participated in an unpaid legal internship program offered by the Dekalb Public Defenders office. They took depositions and interviewed clients under the supervision of a federally certified legal interpreter.
