Shuai serves as an assistant professor of Chinese. He coordinates Chinese language and culture classes and oversees the development of GSU’s Chinese program. His research interests include interlanguage pragmatics, Chinese as a second language acquisition, the development of the Confucius Institute network, and Business Chinese teaching. His research papers appeared in journals such as Language Learning, Chinese as a Second Language Research, and Journal of the Chinese Language Teachers’ Association. Before joining GSU, Shuai received his Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition from Carnegie Mellon University (2011). He received his M.A. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics (2007) and B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature (2004) from Beijing Language and Culture University.
