Contemporary Latin American narrative; literature and politics in Latin America; sexuality and literature.

He is the author of Nombrar lo innombrable: Violencia politica y novela argentina, 1975-1985 (published 1992), and Postales del porvenir: La literatura de anticipación en la Argentina neoliberal, 1985-1999 (published 2006). He is co-editor of Memoria colectiva y politicas de olvido: Argentina y Uruguay, 1970-1990, and De centros y periferias en la literatura de Cordoba.

His articles on literature, film, theater and collective memory have appeared in journals and books in the United States, Argentina, Italy, Ecuador, Venezuela, Mexico, Spain and Germany.

He is presently working on monuments, memorials, and the representation of collective trauma in Argentine literature and the arts.
