Tennis

Georgia State currently does not have its own tennis facility, except for the two courts located behind the sports arena downtown and selected courts at Indian Creek. These are primarily used for academic instruction, but are available for student/staff use on a sign up basis. Tennis is currently scheduled at off campus facilities. Academic classes are coed, while intramural teams include men’s and women’s, and mixed doubles.

Men and Women: Game hours week = 40 hours per week

Team combined: Practice hours per week = 300 hours per week

Academic: class Hours per week = 7 hours per week

Intramural:

  • Hours per week = 25 hours per week
  • 372 total hours per week;
  • 427.8 projected hours per week total

Total need:

  • At least ten courts based on current number of male and female participants at any given competition. Varsity athletics has a need for indoor courts so that competition may be held during inclement weather.
