Zoning Changes

If required, the zoning changes include the following main steps:

  • • Application and submission of required materials
  • • Review of the proposed zoning change by the Neighborhood Planning Unit
  • • Review by the Zoning Committee (a subset of seven members of the City Council)
  • • Review by the Zoning Review Board (a nine-member committee appointed by the Mayor)
  • • Vote by City Council to change the zoning ordinance
  • • Mayor’s signature
