Faculty and staff numbers will also grow to meet the student demand. Impact on the physical plant will be significant. The space deficit of more than 600,000 ASF will grow to nearly 2.8 million ASF as overall space needs reach 5.5 million ASF by 2015. As the chart shown below summarizes, there are more than one million ASF in planned demolitions or dispositions and 2.45 million in planned new projects. The remaining deficit (1.29 million ASF) includes residence halls to meet the campus housing goal as well as additional laboratories, classrooms, and offices.
