All freshmen and transfer students attending an Incept conference must pay a registration fee. This fee covers the expense of meals, printed materials and other administrative costs. All students, including those receiving the HOPE scholarship, must pay the Incept registration fee.

There are four Incept conference formats that are used at Georgia State.  The same basic orientation information will be covered at all Incept conferences.  Depending on your classification (freshmen/transfer) and/or the time of year you are entering the University (i.e. fall, summer, spring), you will attend of the below conference options:

ONE-DAY Incept
This conference is a full day of Orientation activities designed specifically for freshmen students.  Only freshman students and their guests will attend this Orientation.

OVERNIGHT Incept:

The same format of a ONE-DAY Incept will be used with an overnight component added.  Only freshmen students and their guest will attend this Orientation.

TRANSFER EXPRESS Incept:
This conference is a ½ day of orientation activities designed specifically for transfer students.  Only transfer students and their guests will attend this Orientation.  The Transfer Express option will be offered for new transfer students entering the university during the fall and spring semesters but not during the summer semester.

COMBINATION Incept:
This conference is a full day of orientation activities designed for those students that are unable to attend a June or July freshmen specific Incept Conference. Also, new freshmen students entering the university in the spring and summer semesters will attend a Combination Incept conference. The COMBINATION format will include both freshmen and transfer students and will provide a basic Orientation to the University.

Incept Withdrawal and Cancellation Policy:
Please be aware you will be charged for any Incept conference for which you have completed a registration (online or mail-in). To receive a refund after registering for an Incept conference, you must withdraw or cancel your registration at least THREE business days prior to your scheduled conference date.

If you meet the three day withdrawal deadline, the refund will be credited to your student account. The money will NOT be credited directly back to your credit card or bank account.

This refund money will then remain on your student account and be applied to any outstanding fees you may have when tuition and fees are due each enrollment cycle. If your tuition and fees are covered completely by other funds, the Incept refund will be mailed to your address on file when the office of Student Accounts distributes refund checks each enrollment cycle.

However, if you withdraw from Incept and do not attend Georgia State University, the Incept refund will be mailed to your address on file when the office of Student Accounts distributes refund checks each enrollment cycle.

If you withdraw or cancel less than THREE business days prior to your scheduled conference date, there is NO refund. There are NO partial refunds.
