Orientation Schedules

Please find the different Incept: New Student Orientation schedule options listed below.  Note that there is a parent/ guest Incept program running concurrently with each student schedule option.

New students can pick from three different conference formats or schedules.  Each conference format covers the basic orientation information but each has a different structure.

One day Incept: full day of orientation activities and is specifically designed for new freshmen students. Check-in for these conferences is 7 – 8:00am in the Student Recreation Center (101 Piedmont Avenue) and will last until 5:00pm.

Overnight Incept: follows a similar pattern to the one day Incept but new freshmen students stay in the University Commons overnight.  Check-in for these conferences is 9 – 10:00am in the University Commons Lobby (141 Piedmont Avenue) and will last until 12:00pm of day two. 

Freshmen/Transfer Combination: full day of orientation activities and is designed for students who are unable to attend orientation in May, June, or July.  Students are strongly encouraged to attend a freshman or transfer specific conference over the combination option. Check-in for these conferences is 7 – 8:00am in the Student Recreation Center (101 Piedmont Avenue) and will last until 5:00pm.

Incept Transfer Express: condensed five hour orientation conference designed for transfer students seeking a basic introduction to the University, focusing primarily on academic advisement and course registration. In addition to advisement and registration, you will hear from: financial aid, one-stop-shop and registrar, auxiliary and support services, and university police. You will also make connections with your fellow classmates and make connections with seasoned student leaders who will be assisting you through your Incept experience. Check-in for these conferences is 7 – 8:00am in the Student Recreation Center (101 Piedmont Avenue) and will last until Noon.

NOTE: New freshmen students entering in the summer and spring semesters will only have the freshmen/transfer combination format to choose from.

Upon arrival, students and guests will receive a detailed schedule in their check-in bags.  These schedules are useful and should be referred to often as students and guests attend separate programming at various times in the day.
