Senior Cancer Policy Scholar
Georgia State University
Andrew Young School of Policy Studies

The Department of Public Administration and Urban Studies and the Georgia Health Policy Center, both units of the Andrew Young School, seek a senior policy scholar with a primary interest in cancer prevention, detection, and/or treatment. The successful applicant will assume leadership of the Georgia Health Policy Center’s cancer public policy initiative by integrating and developing the economic, public administration, community development, and health improvement research and programming competencies of the School and University. He/She will also teach on the graduate level and be an active member of the senior faculty. The tenure-track position may be filled at the associate or full professor rank. Salary is competitive and commensurate with rank.

The successful candidate will possess a wide array of experience and skills, including: 1) a distinguished record of research productivity and teaching excellence; 2) a history of success in leading applied research and securing external funding; 3) demonstrated knowledge and skills required to integrate research and practical application across disciplines and to apply knowledge to current and future community programs and policy; 4) a record of significant scholarly contributions and the ability to translate clinical and economic and other cancer information to support community programs; 5) a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the multiple stakeholders in the Georgia Cancer Coalition, including policy officials, academic colleagues, and community representatives; and 6) the commitment, energy, and expertise needed to lead Georgia to a position of national prominence in cancer prevention and detection. Applicants must possess a doctorate from an accredited university and be eligible to work in the USA.
