4. The rule limiting student to no more than 2 courses of IB, AP, or CLEP credit in any one department is repealed.
5. The rule limiting students to no more than 30 hours of IB, AP or CLEP credit is repealed.
As we get more highly qualified students, they are coming to GSU with more IB, AP and CLEP credits. Our CLEP policies were revised last year. This is a revision of our IB and AP policies to bring them better in line with our competitor schools.
The rule limiting students to no more than 2 courses of credit in one department is repealed because some departments wish to grant more credit.
The rule limiting students to no more than 30 hours of credit is repealed because no case of a student seeking more than 30 hours can be found. The rule thus serves no purpose and makes GSU look less attractive to high-quality students. Furthermore, students with more than 30 hours of IB, AP and CLEP credit still have to meet GSU's academic residency requirement (39 hours at the 3000/4000 level).
