The following section of the Academic Improvement Program (AIP) policy is repealed:
Students readmitted under the provisions of academic renewal reenter on supervision.
The effect of this motion would be that students readmitted under the provisions of academic renewal would reenter without being on scholastic discipline. Experience with the Interim AIP reveals that the current requirement is unworkable. The principle problem is that students can declare academic renewal at any time--including the middle of a semester. In addition, data reveal that students granted academic renewal are not academically at risk.
