Introduction

Philosophy is the study of the principles of knowledge and valid reasoning, the foundations of morality, law, and society, and the fundamental structures of reality. It is an attempt to understand the basic commitments concerning human beings, God, and nature which guide the personal and professional lives of people and which constitute an essential aspect of human culture. It is also a search for critical tools to evaluate these commitments, further disciplined insight, and encourage rational argument.
