An MA student may be excused from the logic requirement if the student is able to demonstrate knowledge of logic comparable to that which s/he would develop in the required course. The demonstration must be made to the satisfaction of the instructor of the logic course in the student’s entering year and may involve providing copies of the textbook used in a prior course, the syllabus of a prior course, exams from a prior course, or other relevant materials. Information about the content of the required course is available on the Department website for students wishing to decide whether to request a waiver of the requirement.
