Mock Trial Team Competes at National and Regional Tournaments

Mock Trial is an intercollegiate competition where students engage in trial simulations. Through competitions with teams from other institutions, students engage in critical thinking as well as public speaking skills, while developing an understanding for legal practice and procedures. Teams compete in both regional as well as national level tournaments. The cases used for competition alternate each year between criminal and civil.

The GSU Mock Trial team participated in the National Tournament this year after placing 4th at the Regional Tournament Competition. The team beat out around 14 teams, some nationally recognized, to advance to the National Tournament. Additionally, the Mock Trial team participated in two invitational tournaments around the southeast and competed against schools from across the country. This performance comes after the program  goes into its 3rd year here at GSU.
