Employment Services Basic Training Modules

The CRP RCEP IV offers Employment Services Basic Training Modules to orient new personnel, particularly those without a background in disability and employment services. These introductory level modules can be customized for face-to-face, online, or blended formats. They are designed for rapid completion and cover basic concepts and definitions helpful to new staff.

The Employment Services Basic Training Modules are offered by train-the-trainer approach. Core activities include:

  • Create a delivery plan that utilizes supervisors or other staff to manage the training process at the local level
  • Conduct at least one onsite train-the-trainer session:
    • Review of values and assumptions underlying the curriculum
    • Review of curriculum guide and individual modules
    • Review of training basics:
      • The adult learner
      • Positive learning environments
      • Facilitation tools and techniques
      • Presentation skills
      • Logistics and event planning
    • Individual presentations to demonstrate mastery of concepts and effective delivery
  • Provide guidance and support to local trainers during pilot phase
  • Conduct a follow up train-the-trainer session
  • Evaluate outcomes of pilot efforts and need for modifications
  • Providing curriculum updates and periodic guidance
