The Indian Creek Recreation Area at 900 South Indian Creek Drive in DeKalb County offers the Georgia State community a large swimming pool and snack bar (summer semester use only), the large rustic Indian Creek Lodge, picnic grounds, sand volleyball court, tennis courts and Challenge Program ropes course.
Picnic areas and tennis and sand volleyball courts are available daily, year-round, on a first-come, first-served basis. The ICRA pool is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

Special features of the Indian Creek Recreation Area:

  • The rustic lodge is well suited for approved Georgia State University group meetings, retreats and social gatherings. The lodge is not for personal use.
  • Tennis courts, picnic facilities, a sand volleyball court and a children's play area are available on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the year.
  • The swimming pool operates during the summer. (Memorial Day through Labor Day).
  • A Challenge Program ropes course is used by groups to build teamwork, trust and communication.

Are you looking for the perfect place for your next meeting or approved university-related social event? Are you tired of the same four walls and sounds of traffic? Do you want a place you can call your own? The GSU Indian Creek Lodge is the answer to all of your concerns.
With over 15 acres of beautiful hardwoods, gently rolling terrain and the warm furnishings of the Lodge, official university functions will never be quite the same. Facilities include a large 34' x 40' assembly room, perfect for large meetings or socials, a living room that welcomes your guests with the warmth of the area, complete with fireplace and low level lighting, a sun room with walls of windows for small meetings or breakout sessions and direct access to the spacious deck that oversees the wooded surroundings and the cookout patio. Complete kitchen facilities, ADA accessible restrooms and audiovisual equipment support is also available

For reservations, chartered student groups or university departments can call 404-413-1750, stop by Suite 200 in the Student Recreation Center, or you may download and print the forms now then return them in person to Suite 200 SRC. Don't miss this wonderful university resource!

Directions

Take I-285 to Memorial Drive exit. Turn east on Memorial Drive and proceed about eight tenths of a mile. Turn right on Rockbridge Road. Turn right at the first traffic light on South Indian Creek Drive. The Indian Creek Lodge and Recreation Area is approximately one mile on the left, on property hidden by trees and marked by a GSU sign. The address is 900 South Indian Creek Dr.
Parking is limited to paved areas.

Directions via MARTA: Take MARTA from the Georgia State station (located on Piedmont Ave. between Decatur St. and MLK) eastbound train to the Indian Creek station. Exit the station to the left along the bus line and take a left across the bridge to proceed out onto the Durham Park Road. Take a right on Durham Park Road and proceed up to the light at S. Indian Creek Drive. Cross the street and turn to the left to the Indian Creek Recreation Area entrance. The Indian Creek MARTA station is one third of a mile west of the lodge. (just a short walk)

POOL POLICIES

Membership Eligibility
1. Membership is limited to persons who are current Georgia State students, faculty, staff, or contributing alumnus of Georgia State. Members are permitted to bring immediate family members and up to four guests per visit. Current individual membership or family membership to the Georgia State University Student Recreation Center includes membership to the ICRA pool.
2. Alumni must have an active membership with the Alumni Association or make a donation to Annual Giving.
3. Immediate family members of individuals who are eligible members include: spouse/domestic partner, parents, dependent children and siblings.

Rules
1. All members are required to show current identification to access the ICRA pool, appropriate identification includes: Panthercard IDs for
students, faculty, and staff; and alumni association membership cards, or alumni contribution cards for alumni.
2. All users (members, family and guests) of the ICRA pool are required to follow all rules, policies and procedures of Georgia State University and the ICRA. Failure to comply may result in immediate
revocation of membership. Members are responsible for the behavior and actions of their family and guests.
3. All users (members, family and guests) of the ICRA pool must read and sign a release/waiver.
4. Minors (persons 18 years or younger) must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.

Private and Semi-Private Swimming Lessons at Indian Creek Pool:
Lessons are available to all abilities and ages. Classes are half and hour. Semi-private lessons are available for groups of two or three swimmers of similar abilities. Classes will be scheduled around instructor availability during regular pool hours. You can only register at the Indian Creek Pool. Please bring your Panther ID card to register. Cash and check only are accepted.
