Molly Bassett joins the Department

The faculty of the Department of Religious Studies is pleased to announce that Molly Bassett has joined the faculty in Fall 2009 as an Assistant Professor. Molly completec her doctoral work this spring at University of California, Santa Barbara, working with Dr. Rudy Busto, Dr. David Gordon White, Dr. Jeanette Favrot Peterson, and Dr. Davíd Carrasco. Her research focuses on Mesoamerican religious communities with an emphasis on material culture, using anthropological and historical methodologies. Her dissertation is titled "The Fate of Earthly Things: Mexica-Aztec Deities and Their Representation."
