The Department of Religious Studies anticipates an opening for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Islam beginning August 2010, pending budgetary approval. The normal teaching load is two courses per semester. Applicants must hold the Ph.D. or equivalent by start date, should be prepared to teach general and specialty courses in Islam, and must demonstrate the potential for excellence in research and teaching. The department encourages applicants with interests in the comparative or interdisciplinary study of religion. GSU's Department of Religious Studies is a dynamic and growing program which offers B.A. and M.A. degrees and serves a talented and diverse student body in downtown Atlanta.
