The Regents Center for Learning Disorders at Georgia State University was established and funded in 1993 by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.

There are three centers in Georgia--

The Regents Center for Learning Disorders at

  • Georgia Southern University
  • Georgia State University
  • The University of Georgia

The centers were created in response to a need to establish uniformity across the colleges and universities in the University System in the identification of students with learning disabilities.

It is the goal of the centers to provide all students in the University System with access to a reasonable cost comprehensive evaluation to document possible learning disorders.

The centers:

  • provide specialized assessments to students,
  • serve as a resource in identifying appropriate accommodations for meeting the needs of students with learning disorders, and
  • conduct ongoing research related to learning disorders.
