READING TEST HANDSCORING REQUEST FORM

 

The scoring methods used for the Regents' Testing Program Reading Test are highly reliable and accurate.   Each reading test answer sheet is machine-scored twice, and handscoring has never resulted in a change in a student's score.   If you first bubbled in an incorrect answer, erased it and then marked the correct answer, the machine would tell the difference between the erasure and your correct answer.

 

If you would like more information about your reading test performance, you may request your reading test subscores from your institution.  These subscores indicate how well you did in the separate areas of Literal Comprehension, Inferential Comprehension, Vocabulary, and Analysis.   In most cases, however, the subscores do not indicate a pattern of strengths and weaknesses for students with failing scores but indicate the need for improvement in all areas.

 

There is a $10.00 charge for handscoring because finding and re-scoring your answer sheet is a time-consuming process.

 

To request handscoring, complete the form below and send with a check or money order for $10.00 payable to Georgia State University to:
