  1. Explain how this course fits within the context of the institution’s mission and general education program and advances the institution’s general education learning outcomes. If this is a course proposal for Area B, explain how the course addresses the institution’s philosophy, goals, and objectives for courses offered in Area B. Also note that courses specific to the major, skills-based courses and orientation courses are not appropriate for Area B of the Core.
