UNIVERSITY SENATE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Minutes

April 25, 2006

Present: President Carl Patton, Provost Ron Henry, Paul Alberto, Siva Nathan,

Debbie Rupp, Dabney Dixon, Don Reitzes

Ø The President reported that he was working on the approval of the MBA program for the Buckhead and Henry County sites.

Ø He and some of the Board of Regents members had recently returned from a trip to the CHARA Observatory at Mt. Wilson. It was a good trip.

Ø The Athletic Program is going through the NCAA Certification Program. John Marshall has been appointed as Chair.

The Provost reported that the search for the Dean of Policy Studies had 12 – 15 candidates and would be narrowed to 3 -5 candidates.

The search for the VP for Student Services has been narrowed to 3 - 5 candidates.

The minutes from the April 13, 2006 meeting were approved.

The Committee voted to elect Paul Alberto as Chair for another year.

Don Reitzes was welcomed as a new member and Debbie Rupp as a returning member to the Committee.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 13, at 2:00. Upcoming meeting dates are Tuesday, August 22, at 2:00, and Thursday, September 14 at 4:00.
