Communications Committee 

Meeting Minutes – May 29, 2009 10:00 a.m.

In attendance:  Gretchen Cannon, Ann Claycombe, Rene Presti, Colleen Blanchard

 

Committee Chair:  Greetings and approval of last meeting minutes.  All approved minutes will be forwarded to Susan Vogtner.

 

Discussion:  Liz Babiarz accepted as a non-voting member of the committee.  She would like to start a pr/awareness campaign for staff council (she’ll email Nigel @ possible collaboration).  She also volunteered to do a spotlight, possibly on facilities/recycling. 

 

Ann will continue working on getting a quarterly column in Villager. 

 

Gretchen will price lanyards  to promote staff council.

 

The Employee Spotlight Program -  Upcoming interview assignments are as follows:

 

Ann – July (David will also work on one, but he is out of the country)

Rene – August

Colleen – September

 

Review Committee Goals: 

 

1.      Raise awareness of Staff Council – possibly a quarterly column in the Villager

2.      Continue the Spotlight program

3.      Maintain and upgrade Staff Council website as need and opportunities arise. 

 

Next meeting:  June 26th   Homework – each committee member will review content of the website and give feedback/ideas for improvement.  Also, each member will identify areas of the site they would be willing to maintain/grow.
