CALENDAR FOR 2011-2012 SENATE YEAR FACULTY
ELECTIONS
In order to have the Nominations Report available for approval at the
Senate's 2011-2012 organizational meeting, departments/units need to hold
their elections at the beginning of Spring semester. The
first day of classes for Spring semester is Monday, January 10. The
Nominations Report,
which contains the committee assignments for the newly elected and
returning Senators, must be approved at the first Senate meeting of the
2011-2012 year. That meeting will be held on April 14, 2011.
January 10
January 10 Voting lists and materials are sent
to Departments, with copies to Deans' Offices, by Senate Office.
Jan. 11 - February 25 Departments hold Senate elections.
February 25 Election results, along with Senators'
committee preferences, are due to Deans' Offices from Departments.
March 4 Election results, along with Senators'
committee preferences, are due to Senate Office from the Deans'
Offices.
March 7 - March 25 Nominations Committee meets to elect
chair and works on Senate Nominations Report.
Sometime during the week of March 28 Executive
Committee meets -- one of the agenda items is the
consideration of the finalized Nominations Report.
No later than April 1 Approved Nominations Report
submitted to Mary Nell to be
copied in preparation for distribution to Senate.
April 7All Senate materials must be prepared and delivered to the
2011-2012 Senate, including final copy of Nominations Report.
April 14Senate meeting - first one of the 2011-2012 Senate
year. 2011-2012 Executive Committee elected.
