The Southeastern Immigration and Ethnic History Resource Site
THIS SITE IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION
The purpose of this site is to assist scholars, students, and the general public in researching the history of immigration and ethnicity in the southeastern United States from 1783 to the present. It is a collaborative effort of the faculty, staff, and students of Georgia State University, sponsored by the Department of History and the William R. Pullen Library. Through this site, we hope to encourage increased understanding of the complex history of immigration and ethnicity in this region. Although regional definitions are fluid things, for the purposes of this site, "the southeastern United States" consists of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
