Students not majoring in Sociology must obtain authorization to register for SOCI 3010, 3020, 3030, and 3201. These courses are required for Sociology majors. They are not officially limited to Sociology majors but majors are given first opportunity to register. Non-Sociology majors may register for the course two weeks prior to the start of late registration.
Non-Sociology majors interested in registering for SOCI 3010, 3020, 3030, and 3201 may request permission to enroll by contacting Brian Buckwald, the Sociology department undergraduate academic advisor, with the following information:
After contacting the department undergraduate advisor, you will be authorized no sooner than two weeks prior to the start of late registration. See the table below for specific authorization dates. If approved, students must register themselves. An authorization is NOT registration. It's also NOT overflow permission.
If you are close to graduation, it is a good idea to create a back up plan. The course may fill to capacity before the authorization date arrives.
