3/26/09 - Sociology Club Elections on April 2nd 2009

Elections for the 2009-2010 Sociology Club officers will take place April 2nd, 2009 in General Classroom room 1004. Students interested in running for a position should attend the meeting and be prepared to give a short speech stating their qualifications, reason for running, and position goals.

Open Positions

President:

  • Schedules general body and executive board meetings
  • Acts as liaison between advisors and executive board
  • Coordinates club events such as Paper competition and Social Forum
  • Other responsibilities as needed
  • Knowledge of delegation is a must

Vice-President:

  • Support the President in the officiating of the club meetings
  • Facilitate club meetings in the absence or request of the President
  • Attend executive board meetings

Secretary:

  • Keep an active file of all members
  • Handle correspondence
  • Answer questions by means of e-mail or personal contact with group members
  • Keep a running log of all club meetings
  • Promote the club by means of passing out flyers, word of mouth, and other means of advertising

Treasurer:

  • In charge of the financial matters of the club
  • Keeps track of all the dates of the purchases
  • Needs to be highly organized.
