Research and Teaching Interests

Dr. Konrad received her Ph.D. in Sociology from Georgia State University in 2006.

She has wide-ranging interests in urban sociology including spatial equity, environmental justice, crime and deviance, wealth distribution, and the intersections of race and place.

Her book, Transporting Atlanta: The Mode of Mobility Under Construction, (forthcoming, SUNY Press), explores the links between social and physical mobility, the impact of the built environment on social relations, and regime politics in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Konrad teaches a variety of courses including Race and Ethnic Relations, Crime and Punishment, Deviant Behavior, Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, Sociological Theory, and Sociological Research Methods. Through all her course offerings, she aims to shed light on issues of stratification and inequality and on global and regional interconnections.
