The Department of Sociology offers the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree program and the Master of Arts (M.A.) degree program, providing students with both a broad exposure to the discipline of sociology as well as in-dept
h study in specialized areas of expertise. Qualified students are accepted into the Ph.D. program after their completion of either a baccalaureate degree (the PhD-only program) or a master's degree (the Joint MA/PhD Program). Students may also apply
to the M.A. program after their completion of a baccalaureate degree. Students elect among three concentration areas: Family and Life Course, Race and Urban Studies, and Gender and Sexuality. |
