1. Apply online through CollegeNET and pay the $50 application fee.
2. Submit "self-managed application" to the College of Arts & Sciences Office of Graduate Studies.
3. Include the College of Arts and Sciences "Application for Graduate Study" in your self-managed application packet.
4. Include the "Residency Information Form" in your self-managed application packet.
5. Include two copies of official transcripts from each educational institution you attended (or are currently attending) after high school in your self-managed application packet.
6. Include photocopies of your official score report of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) in your self-managed application packet.
7. Include three (3) letters of recommendation for Joint M.A./Ph.D. or Ph.D.-Only application or two (2) letters of recommendation for the M.A.-Only application. Recommendation letters should be signed and sealed and included in your self-managed app
lication packet.
8. Include the Department of Sociology's "Supplemental Application Form" in your self-managed application packet.
9. Include a sample of your written scholarly work for the Joint M.A./Ph.D. or Ph.D.-Only applications (e.g., your master's thesis or a class/research paper). Applicants to the M.A.-Only program are encouraged to submit a sample of their written scho
larly work.
10. If you wish to be considered for a graduate research/teaching assistantship, include a copy of the Department of Sociology's "Graduate Research/Teaching Assistantship Appli
cation" form in your self-managed application packet.
Unless all of these materials are submitted by the deadline, your application will not be considered.
Deadlines:
February 1: Financial assistantships (Graduate Research and Teaching Assistantships for full-time students only)
March 15: General application for foreign students
April 15: General application for domestic students
