Overview

The Board of Regents purchased PeopleSoft software in July 1997 as the new information system for the entire University System of Georgia. The system includes both financial and human resources applications. The software is aimed at enhancing functionality, improving business processes, and providing a superior reporting system. Georgia State University was the pilot for the financial applications and went "live" on July 1, 1999. The human resources applications "go live" date has been postponed.

The implementation of PeopleSoft resulted in the development of the Spectrum System Office. The office is a unit of the Finance & Administration Division of Georgia State University.
