Math Placement

All students who have not completed the math requirement in Area A of the core curriculum are strongly encouraged to take a Math Placement Test that will assess their skills and place them in an appropriate math course.

Math 1111--College Algebra and higher math courses require specific placement test scores as a prerequisite. The Math Placement Test should be taken before attending Incept, and there is no fee for students to take the placement test for the first time.

For math placement questions and dates, go to http://www.gsu.edu/counseling/math_placement.html or call the Testing Office at (404) 413-1735.

Chemistry Placement

Chem 1211K is the prerequisite for all Chemistry and Biology courses at GSU.  To register, you must take a required 45-minute diagnostic chemistry test administered by the Chemistry Department on campus at selected times (no fee for test; please bring non-programmable calculator and #2 pencil).
Who must take the test?  All except students with a chemistry AP score of 2 or better or an SAT subject score of 600 or better or completion of a college-level chemistry course.

Transient students enrolled at other universities do not have to take the test.  Please call 404-651-3120 if you think you may be exempt from taking this test or visit http://chemistry.gsu.edu/Student/1211/regtest.php
