| Felicia Artis - Georgia Toastmasters District 14 Vice President of Marketing |
| Toastmasters offers seven leadership roles at the club level and even more at the district level. Taking on these leadership roles allows members to practice and learn marketable job skills. Felicia Artis, Lt. Governor of Marketing for Toastmasters' District 14 (the state of Georgia), will discuss ways to identify and market these important leadership skills. She will also share how she went from Toastmaster member to Lieutenant Governor of Marketing in just 36 months. Ms. Artis joined Toastmasters in October 2000. Since then, she has held many club-level offices and many district offices including District 14 Public Relations Officer; Area 43 Governor; Club Founder, Sponsor, and Mentor; President; VP of Membership; Secretary; and Sergeant at Arms. Originally from the Chicago area, Ms. Artis earned a full academic scholarship to Alabama A & M University where she received a B.S. in Computer Science & Mathematics after just 3 1/2 years. Since then, she has worked for a number of companies including Caterpillar Inc. and BellSouth Telecommunications. Most recently, she worked for Sun Microsystems for almost three years as a Systems Engineer. In August 2003, she resigned from Sun to establish her own company. |
