Orientation GSTEP

The Orientation GSTEP, a test for international graduate students at Georgia State University, is given at the beginning of each semester, during orientation for new international students. The test is given to graduate students whose colleges/departments require the test. Check with your department to see if it requires the GSTEP. There is no cost for this test. It includes the following components:

 

  • A reading/writing section including short answers and one essay
  • A multiple choice listening section
  • A multiple choice reading section
  • An oral interview

 

Based on the results of the test, students may be required to take (1) no ESL courses, (2) graduate-level ESL courses, or (3) Intensive English Program courses.
