Program
Description
The
project prepares high school students for college programs that lead
to careers in math and science. Services include intensive instruction
in advanced level courses along with academic advisement and career
counseling. Student are afforded the opportunity to study under the
tutelage of distinguished faculty from the fields of math, science,
and technology and to work along side graduate students who also serve
as mentors. Through independent research projects and laboratory instruction,
students gain the skills to effectively compete in a society increasingly
shaped by science and technology.
All activites are held in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities which
offer the chance to participate in cutting edge research projects
and to compete in a national ThinkQuest Competition. Classroom instruction
is supplemental with field trips and exposure to cultural enrichment
activities. The program features a six-week summer component with
year round follow-up services.
