Georgia
State University is on the move and growing. We are very proud
and excited to be an integral part of this growth. As the "Main
Street Master Plan" of the University is implemented we
look forward to each facet and helping develop a pleasant and
safe atmosphere where everyone can enjoy their experiences at
the University without being overly concerned about their security.
As an example we have been involved with the development and
integration of the security plans of the Helen M. Aderhold Learning
Center and the loft-style housing complex since the very first
beginnings of the design. We are very excited about these new
facilities, due to begin operation in the next few months.
The Georgia
State University Police Department is national accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and was the first campus police department in Georgia to achieve the distinction of "Certified Law Enforcement Agency" from the State of Georgia Law Enforcement Certification Program. Currently, we are the only university police department in the state to be both National Accredited and State Certified. Accreditation and Certification were achieved by meeting very stringent and recognized professional law enforcement standards as verified by audits conducted by teams of other certified law enforcement agencies. These awards are recognized by all law enforcement agencies in Georgia and across the nation as a measure to of the professional law enforcement services being provided to the community.
Georgia
