Georgia
State University is on the move and growing. We are very proud
and excited to be an integral part of this growth. As the "Main
Street Master Plan" of the University is implemented we
look forward to each facet and helping develop a pleasant and
safe atmosphere where everyone can enjoy their experiences at
the University without being overly concerned about their security.
As an example we have been involved with the development and
integration of the security plans of the Helen M. Aderhold Learning
Center and the loft-style housing complex since the very first
beginnings of the design. We are very excited about these new
facilities, due to begin operation in the next few months.
The Georgia
State University Police Department was the first campus police
department in Georgia to achieve the distinction of "Certified
Law Enforcement Agency" from the State of Georgia Law Enforcement
Certification Program. Certification was achieved by meeting
all the very stringent and recognized professional law enforcement
standards as verified by audits conducted by teams of other
certified law enforcement agencies. This award is recognized
by all law enforcement agencies in Georgia as a measure to insure
that professional law enforcement services are being provided
to the community that the agency serves.
Georgia
State University provides the largest campus police department
in Georgia to help insure your stay at the University is enjoyable,
productive and safe. With your help there is no doubt that this
can be achieved. So, the next time you need assistance or just
need some information rest assured we are happy to help. Do
not hesitate to call or stop one of our police officers for
assistance.
Welcome
to Georgia State University and we look forward to seeing you
about campus.
