Undergraduate students seeking to major in Women's Studies must complete the Arts and Sciences core. In Area F, students complete 18 hours, including WSt 2010, Introduction to Women’s Studies, a foreign language course at the 1002 level, and enough courses at the 1000 or 2000 level to comprise 18 hours. Courses in the social sciences and humanities are recommended.

Also see your WSI advisor, Dr. Julie Kubala, the WSI Director of Undergraduate Studies, for advice on other courses to complete your Area F requirement. and 30 hours of 3000-level and above courses in Women’s Studies. Women's Studies majors graduate with the B.A. degree from the College of Arts and Sciences.
Women’s Studies majors concentrate on one of 4 strands: Sexualities, Race, Globalization, and Social change. Women's Studies majors must complete Area F requirements of the College of Arts and Sciences, including WSt 2010 and a foreign language. For the WS major, also required is WSt 3010, Feminist Theories, and either WSt 4920, Senior Research or WSt 4950, Internship.
Strands. Women's Studies undergraduate courses fall into four strands: Sexualities, Race, Globalization, and Social Change. Each Women's Studies major focuses her studies on a particular strand and is required to to take at least three courses from that strand. The remaining required courses may be taken from other strands or from general Women's Studies course offerings.
