Application materials for the Women’s Studies Institute Master’s program are available online from the Georgia State University College of Arts and Sciences Office of Graduate Studies, which can be reached at 404-413-5040.

Belows are the application requirements for the College of Arts and Sciences, additional requirements for international students, and additional requirements for the Women’s Studies Institute:

Application Requirements for the College of Arts and Sciences

  1. College of Arts and Sciences Application for Graduate Study
  2. $50.00 application fee using check, money order, or credit card: Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. Write your social security number on the check or money order
  3. Two official transcripts from each college or university attended. If you have previously attended Georgia State, submit one transcript from each institution attended before Georgia State and two transcripts from each institution attended after Georgia State.

Additional College Application Requirements for International Students

  1. Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or GSTEP scores
  2. Financial statement with supporting documents

Additional Application Requirements for the Women’s Studies Institute

  1. Three letters of recommendation addressing your ability to undertake graduate study
  2. Official GRE scores of 1000 or above
  3. Written statement of purpose of 750-1000 words
  4. An academic writing sample
  5. A separate essay describing your research interests if you are applying for a Graduate Assistantship (GA)

NOTE: Applicants must have a minimum GRE score of 1000 in order to be considered for admission. We strongly encourage applicants with scores under 1000 to retake the GRE exam.

Students are admitted to the M.A. program in fall semester only. Your complete application must be received by the Graduate Office of Arts and Sciences by the February 15 deadline to be considered in the first decision-making process. Later applications may be considered, depending upon availability of funds.
